⛈️ Business Class Vs First Class Singapore Airlines
When Japanese airline All Nippon Airways introduced all-new first- and business-class suites back in July 2019, I couldn't wait to fly them.. Designed by famed architect Kengo Kuma, who also created Japan's stunning new National Stadium for the Tokyo Olympics, the ANA suites are gorgeous but understated, with wood paneling that harkens to Japan's lush forests, innovative layouts inspired by
A350-900LH. A350-900ULR. The A350-900MH seats appear as squares with distinctive privacy “wings”. The A350-900LH/ULR both use rectangles to represent seats, but the ULR has a much bigger Business Class cabin (with the first row labelled 10, as opposed to 11 on the LH). You can also check the seat map without booking.
Krisflyer Elite Silver is Singapore's entry-level elite status tier. It requires 25,000 Elite miles to qualify for, but there's no spending requirement. For the purpose of this valuation, I'm going to assume 30,000 elite status miles earned at a cost of 12.5 cents per mile, giving you a total spend of $3,750.
Singapore Airlines wins this contest hands down. They win on two fronts. They have consistent seat pitch and width across their A380 and 777 fleets. Further, when looking at the 777-300 economy class seat configurations, Singapore Airlines has a 3-3-3 layout, whereas Emirates has a 3-4-3 layout.
Named the best international airline in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards for 27 consecutive years, Singapore Airlines is known for its world-class in-flight services and amenities. While
In our review of Premium Economy on Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900, we’d describe the space as “intimate” with just 24 seats, arranged in a 2-4-2 layout across three rows. Each seat is 18.5 inches (same as those on SIA’s B777-300ER, but Premium Economy on Singapore Airlines A380 has 19.5 inches).
Scoring a ride in Air France La Premiere is notoriously difficult. For one, you actually need to find a route operated by one of the carrier's 19 Boeing 777-300ERs that feature first class. For the summer, that includes select frequencies in the following markets, based on Cirium schedules: Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Dubai.
By David Flynn, November 22 2023. British Airways is pushing ahead with an upgrade of its Airbus A380s, replacing the dorm-like business class with its vastly-superior Club Suite, as well as rolling out an all-new first class – and a deadline has now been set. Speaking with The Sunday Times in July, British Airways CEO Sean Doyle revealed not
Oman Air, which is one of the undeservedly forgotten Middle Eastern carriers, recently revealed their new 787-900 Dreamliner, which features a first class suite that looks ultra chic. There are 2 rows with 8 seats total in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with a sliding door you can use for the utmost privacy.
IMO you can't beat Singapore airlines for comfort and service - especially in Business Class, and Changi airport is a destination in it's own right. However, if you choose Cathay, you won't be disappointed. It would depend on the difference in price. If it's significant, go with Cathay.
Singapore Airlines has the highest share of seats in premium cabins (15.5%), while Emirates leads by number of first class seats and by share of seats in first class. On widebodies, first class accounts for 0.6% of seats, and business class for 12.2% of seats.
My 2018 has been off to a pretty luxurious start. Earlier this month, I flew Emirates' impressive new first class from Brussels (BRU) to Dubai (DXB), and then I finally had a chance to experience Singapore's 50-square-foot first-class suite, on a daytime A380 flight from Sydney (SYD) to Singapore (SIN).
